ആദ്യവിദ്യാഭ്യഃസം നെയ്യാറ്റിന്‍ കരയിലെ ;
മലയാളപാഠശാലയിലും ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്‌
സ്കൂളിലുമായിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട്‌ തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത്‌
രാജകീയ ‘മഹാപാഠശാലയിലും ചേര്‍ന്ന്‌ എഫ്‌.എ ;
പാസ്ലായി:
ഇക്കാലത്താണ്‌ ലേഖനമെഴുത്തും പ്രതഭാന്തും
തുടങ്ങിയത്‌. 1900 ല്‍ കേരളദര്‍പ്പണം എന്ന ;
പ്രതത്തിന്റെ ആധിപത്യം കയ്യേറ്റു. ബി.എ പഠിപ്പും

ഒപ്പം നടത്തി. മലയാള വ്യാകരണം, സാഹിത്യം
എന്നീ വിഷയങ്ങളില്‍ നൈപുണ്യം നേടി. കേരള
വര്‍മ്മ വലിയ കോയിതമ്പുരാ ന്റേയും ഏ.ആര്‍. ;
രാജരാജവര്‍മ്മയുടെയും ശിഷ്യത്വവും
ലഭിക്കാനിടയായി. കേരളവര്‍മ്മ സ്വർണ്ണ
മെഡലിന്‌ അര്‍ഹനായി.
1901 പാല്‍കുളങ്ങര തോപ്പുവീട്ടില്‍
നാണികുട്ടിയമ്മയെ വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചു. ]
അകാലപ്രസവം മൂലം അവര്‍ ചരമമടഞ്ഞു.
1901 മുതല്‍ 1903 വരെ “കേരള പഞ്ചിക’യുടെ
പ്രതാധിപരായി.
1903 ല്‍ മലയാളിയുടെപ്രതാധിപത്യം

1904ല്‍ ബി. കല്ലാണിയമ്മയെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു.
1905 ല്‍ കേരളന്‍’എന്നൊരു മാസിക തന്റെ
സ്വന്തം ഉടമസ്ഥത്യിലും പ്രതാധിപത്യത്തിലും ]
പ്രസിദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തിത്തുടങ്ങി.
1906 ല്‍ച്രസിദ്ധ മുസ്ലീം പണ്ഡിതനായിരുന്ന
വക്കം മയലവിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള സ്വദേ
ശാഭിമാനിയുടെ പ്രതാധിപത്യം ഏറ്റു. ;
ഇതോടൊപ്പം ശാരദ, വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥി എന്നീ
മാസികകളും നടത്തി.

സ്വദേശാഭിമാനിയിലെഴുതിയ ഉജ്ജല
മുഖപ്രസംഗങ്ങളില്‍ക്കൂടി തിരുവിതാംകൂറിലെ ;
ഭരണരംഗത്തെ അഴിമതികള്‍ക്കും
രാജസേവകന്മാരുടെ ചൂഷണങ്ങള്‍ക്കും
അന്നത്തെ ദിവാന്റെ ദുര്‍നടപടികൾക്കും ;
എതിരായി ഉഗവിമര്‍ശനം നടത്തി. തൂലികയെ
പടവാളാക്കി മാറ്റിയ അദ്ദേ ഹത്തിന്റെമേല്‍
രാജദ്രോഹകുറ്റം ചുമത്തി; 1910 സെപ്പയംബര്‍ 26ന്‌ ]
തിരുവിതാംകൂര്‍ ഗവൺമെന്റ്‌ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ
നാടുകടത്തി. – അതിനു ശേഷം
കുടുംബസമേതം മദിരാശിയിലും പാലക്കാട്ടും ]
കണ്ണൂരും താമസിക്കാനിട യായി. പാലക്കാട്ട്‌
തരവത്തു അമ്മാളുഅമ്മയുടെ ഒദാര്യവും
ന്േഹവും അവര്‍ക്കനുഗ്രഹ മായി. പാലക്കാട്ട്‌ ;
താമസിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ “ആത്മപോഷിണി: ;
മാസികയ്ക്ക്‌ വേണ്ടി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി.
ഇക്കാലത്താണ്‌ മലേഷ്യാ മലയാളികളുടെ ഒരു ]
പ്രതിനിധി പാല്ക്കാട്ടുവന്ന്‌ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‌

സ്വദേശാഭിമാനി ബിരുദമുദ്ര ]
സമര്‍പ്പിക്കയുണ്ടായത്‌. നിരന്തരമായ
മനഃക്ടേശവുട ശരീരക്ടേശവും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ
രോഗിയാക്കിത്തീര്‍ത്തു. ;
കണ്ണൂരില്‍ ചികിത്സ നടത്തിയെങ്കിലും 1916
മാര്‍ച്ച്‌ 28 ന്‌ ആ ധീരപുരുഷന്‍ ഇഹലോകവാസം
വെടിഞ്ഞു. കണ്ണൂര്‍ കടപ്പുറത്ത്‌ ശവദാഹം
നടന്നു. ഭാരതത്തിനെ സ്വാത്രന്ത്യലബ്ദിക്കുശേഷം
നാട്ടു രാജ്യങ്ങളും നാട്ടുരാജാക്കന്മാരും
ഇല്ലാതായപ്പോള്‍ കണ്ണൂര്‍ കടപ്പുറത്ത്‌ ]
വിശ്രമിച്ചിരുന്ന സ്വദേ ശാഭിമാനിയുടെ
ഭയതികാവശിഷ്ടം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്തേക്ക്‌
കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. 1958 ല്‍ രാഷ്‌ പതി രാജേന്ദ്രപസാദ്‌ ]
സ്വദേശാഭിമാനിയുടെ പ്രതിമ തലസ്ഥാന
നഗരിയില്‍ അനാച്ഛാദനം ചെയ്തു.
